In Romans 15:4 & 1 Corinthians 10:1-11, the apostle Paul, speaking by inspiration of the Holy Spirit, teaches the great truth that we are to learn from the things that are written in the Old Testament. God wants humans to read the books of the Old Testament and make application of the principles taught therein to their lives (2 Tim 3:14-17). By doing so, we can avoid many spiritually harmful situations that devastated those in days gone by. Since this is true (that we should learn from Old Testament examples), I have decided to start a series of articles in which I will revisit an Old Testament story (or account) and try to bring to our attention some of the lessons that God wants us to learn from it. The series will be called: Written For Our Learning. I pray that they will be helpful to you.
